Attorney General's Office.
13th.September, 1898.
REPORT ON ORDINANCE NO.22 OF 1898.
titled
I have examined the accompanying Ordinance, en-
A
An Ordinance to further amend The Magistrates
Ordinance, 1890",
and I am of opinion that the Ordinance is one which is not
contrary to the Governor's Instructions.
Section 7 of the Magistrates Ordinance, 1890,
required that there should be two Magistrates "as heretofore".
For some time past only one Magistrate has been appointed. The
object of this Ordinance is to enable the Governor to allow
the work of the Magistracy to be done by one or more Magis-
trates, as experience may prove to be most expedient.
(Sa.) W.MEIGH GOODMAN,
Attorney General.
